Polestar's US homepage is running a set of September offers that it ties to a single deadline. The headline offer is up to $25,000 off a new Polestar 4 cash purchase, or financing at 0% APR, both shown as available until September 30. The terms beneath the offers state that each one is valid from September 1, 2026 until September 30, 2026, with delivery required by that date. These are US-market terms published by Polestar and Polestar Financial Services; readers in other markets should expect different programs, different amounts and different structures.
The cash and financing offers
The Polestar 4 cash incentive is the largest single number on the page. Polestar states that it will provide $25,000 off MSRP for customers purchasing a new 2026 Polestar 4 with cash. The financing route is structured differently: Polestar provides an $18,000 Clean Vehicle Incentive off MSRP for customers who finance a new 2026 Polestar 4 through Polestar Financial Services, at 0% APR for 60 months, which the page spells out as $16.67 per month per $1,000 financed. Financing is provided by Volvo Car Financial Services U.S., LLC, d/b/a Polestar Financial Services, and the rate is available to qualified customers who meet PFS credit standards. The page notes that not everyone will qualify for credit approval or the advertised APR.
The same page carries a separate $25,000 incentive on the 2025 Polestar 3, for customers who purchase with cash or through promotional financing, and a 4.99% APR offer for up to 60 months on pre-owned Certified by Polestar Polestar 2 models, valid if financed through Polestar Financial Services. Both carry the same September 1–30, 2026 validity window and September 30 delivery deadline.
The lease terms behind the $499 figure
The $499/month Polestar 4 lease runs for 27 months and, according to the footnote, already includes the incentive. The model page breaks the arithmetic down: the payment is based on a new 2026 Polestar 4 Dual motor with Metallic Paint and an adjusted capitalized cost of $46,095, which takes an MSRP of $65,600 including a $1,400 destination and delivery fee, adds a $995 acquisition fee, subtracts a $1,500 capitalized cost reduction, and applies a $19,000 Polestar Clean Vehicle Non-cash Incentive. Cash due at signing is $1,500 down, the first month's payment and a $0 security deposit.
The fine print also states what the advertised payment does not include and what the lessee owes beyond it:
- Taxes, title, license, registration, acquisition fee, insurance, maintenance and other dealer fees are additional
- Excess wear and mileage over 7,500 miles/year is charged at $0.25/mile
- The incentive is not valid on previous leases and has no cash value
- Actual MSRP may vary and could affect the monthly payment
Who qualifies, and what the offers exclude
Several exclusions recur across the terms. The offers may not be combined with fleet leasing or fleet management companies, and dealer-affiliated fleet companies are not eligible. All offers are subject to vehicle availability, and Polestar reserves the right to change prices, taxes, fees and other elements at any time. There is also a loyalty program on top of the main offers: Polestar Automotive USA Inc. will pay $1,000 toward a lease or the purchase of a new, unused 2026 Polestar 4 for a customer who currently owns or leases, or has owned or leased, a Polestar 1, 2, 3 or 4, with proof of ownership and a US driver's license required, limited to one incentive per eligible VIN.
Context on the car the offers are built around
For readers weighing the numbers against the vehicle, Polestar's own Polestar 4 coupe page lists a starting MSRP of $56,400, EPA range of up to 310 miles, and a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds for the Dual motor configuration, with EPA MPGe figures published for both Rear motor and Dual motor versions for comparison purposes. The page also carries the standard warranty package: four years or 50,000 miles on the vehicle, eight years or 100,000 miles on the battery with a replacement or repair commitment if state of health drops below 70% within that period, and 12 years on corrosion.
Checking the terms before you commit
Because the offers carry a hard deadline and a right-of-change clause, the practical step is to read the footnotes on polestar.com's US site at the moment you are shopping, and to ask a participating Polestar Space to confirm in writing which incentives apply to the specific VIN, which financing terms you qualify for, and what is due at signing. Note the loyalty bonus requires proof of current or prior Polestar ownership and a US driver's license, and that the advertised figures exclude taxes, title, registration and dealer fees — so the out-the-door number will differ from the advertised payment.
The Model Year has not driven, tested or priced any vehicle in this article; every figure above comes from Polestar's US pages as captured on September 18, 2026, and the terms, amounts and dates can change at any time.
