This is a reference file on the GWM Tank 300 Hybrid in Australia, built from the manufacturer's own dated launch material rather than from any independent measurement. GWM published its announcement, "Introducing the All-New GWM Tank 300 Hybrid", on 15 December 2022 on its Australian site.
Everything below is what GWM Australia stated at that time for the Australian market. The document is now several years old, so figures, grades and warranty terms should be treated as a record of that announcement, and any purchasing decision checked against the manufacturer's current Australian pages.
Powertrain and the figures GWM published
According to GWM's release, the Tank 300 Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter turbo hybrid engine with a 9-speed Hybrid Automatic Transmission. The petrol engine is quoted at 180kW @ 5500-6000rpm and 380Nm @ 1700-4000rpm, with an electric motor contributing an additional 78kW and 268Nm. Towing capacity is quoted at 2500kg. The release places the Tank 300 alongside the Haval Jolion Hybrid and Haval H6 Hybrid as the third New Energy Vehicle in the brand's Australian portfolio at the time. GWM's release quoted no fuel-consumption figure on a named test cycle; none is printed here.
Off-road geometry and the interior measurement GWM quotes
GWM describes the Tank 300 as built on its global off-road platform, with a quoted ground clearance of 224mm, a 33° approach angle and a 34° departure angle, and what it calls Torque On Demand 4WD technology. In the release, GWM describes the interior as spacious and measures it at 4760mm x 1930mm x 1903mm (L/W/H); the release presents this as an interior measurement, not an exterior body dimension.
Two grades: Lux and Ultra
The launch release names two grades for Australia, Lux and Ultra, described as catering to discerning tastes. In the Lux grade, GWM lists Comfort-Tek faux leather seats, a 6-way power driver seat, a microfiber leather steering wheel, a 12.3-inch full-color instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch full-color infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker audio system and ambient lighting in seven colors.
The Ultra grade, again per GWM's release, adds Nappa leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, an 8-way power driver seat with massage function and 4-way power lumbar support adjustment, a heated leather steering wheel, wireless charging, an Infinity 9-speaker audio system and a 64-color ambient lighting system. Five exterior colors are listed: Lunar Red, Hamilton White, Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey and Crystal Black. No prices were published in the 15 December 2022 release; a launch-price record is not available from this source.
Safety and warranty, as announced
Safety equipment is described as an extensive suite: 7 SRS airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Braking, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with brake, and Crawl Control, among others. On ownership, GWM states that the Tank 300 carries, as standard across its Australian products at the time, a 7-year/unlimited km warranty, 5 years of roadside assistance and 5 years of Capped Price Servicing.
Verification for the reader: GWM's release, dated 15 December 2022, is on the manufacturer's Australian site under News. Since warranty terms, grades and specifications change, confirm current Tank 300 details, pricing and consumption figures for Australia directly with a GWM Australia dealer or the brand's current specification pages, and note that figures above apply to the Australian market as published in that release.
